Edmond High Schools Among the top in the State

6 08 2012

Edmond’s three high schools– North, Memorial, and Santa Fe– were named among the top in the state.

North High School was rated the 3rd best public school in OK, and awarded a gold medal.
Memorial High School was rated the 5th best, and Santa Fe was rated the 10th best in the state. Both received a silver medal from US News and World Report.

The 2012 U.S. News Best High Schools report includes school-specific data on enrollment, location, ethnicity, school type, state assessment proficiency tests and Advanced Placement® tests. Using the data, the schools were then given a college readiness index score.
“We are elated that all three of our high schools ranked among the top 10 best schools in Oklahoma,” said Executive Director of Secondary Education Jason Brown. “I believe that a detailed analysis of the schools on the list will reveal that we are the best district in the state at educating our students.”

I hope you’re excited for school to start next week. Let’s make it a great year.
